Submission Guidelines

PromptingLLM is built by the community, for the community. These guidelines help ensure every prompt is useful, high-quality, and worth sharing.

What makes a great prompt?

The best prompts in our library share a few things in common:

  • ✓Specific — They have a clear goal and produce consistent, predictable results.
  • ✓Tested — You've actually used this prompt and it works. Not hypothetical.
  • ✓Reusable — Others can copy it, adapt it slightly, and get value from it immediately.
  • ✓Well-described — The title and description clearly explain what the prompt does and when to use it.

Community standards

To keep PromptingLLM useful for everyone, please follow these rules:

  • ×No spam or duplicates — Don't submit near-identical prompts that already exist. If you improve an existing one, fork it.
  • ×No harmful content — Prompts designed to deceive, manipulate, or cause harm will be removed.
  • ×No untested prompts — Only share prompts you've actually run and verified produce useful output.
  • ✓Credit sources — If your prompt is based on someone else's work, mention it in the description.
  • ✓Improve, don't copy — Use the fork feature to create your own version of an existing prompt rather than duplicating it.

How prompts are ranked

Prompts are ranked by community votes (likes) and recency. The highest-rated recent prompts are featured on the home page and appear first in category listings. There are no algorithms or pay-to-feature placements — quality and community approval determine visibility.
